Charli XCX, a British songwriter best known for her album “Brat,” has released her new film project in collaboration with A24. “The Moment” premiered Jan. 30, 2026, following significant buzz after its original announcement last year.
The movie was first teased through a short video posted on both Charli’s TikTok account and A24’s, featuring bold, fast-paced visuals and flashing lights, along with a glimpse of the cast. The film debuted this week in theaters and on select streaming platforms, drawing attention from fans of both Charli and independent cinema.

“The Moment” follows a rising pop star navigating increasing fame while preparing for her first arena-tour performance. Fans have speculated that the movie draws inspiration from elements of Charli’s own career and her “Brat” era.
The cast includes several notable figures, including Shygirl, Alexander Skarsgård, Isaac Cole Powell and Kylie Jenner. The soundtrack was produced by A.G. Cook, who collaborated with Charli on songs for her “Brat” album. The film was co-produced by Studio 365, Charli’s production company, and 2AM, in addition to A24’s distribution.
Fans across social media expressed high expectations for the project leading up to its release, pointing to the high-profile cast and A24’s reputation for critically acclaimed films such as “Midsommar,” “Hereditary,” “The Florida Project” and “Moonlight.”
