Anxiety can be a physical or a mental feeling, experienced before events such as a speech, performance, test or even a date. Anxiety is a feeling influenced by chemicals in the brain, but it can still affect a person’s ability to work, enjoy activities and think clearly. In addition to feelings such as detachment from reality, restlessness, hyperawareness and anticipation, anxiety can also cause physical symptoms. Common physical symptoms when experiencing anxiety are a rapid or increased heart rate, trembling, sweating, muscle tension and dizziness.

About the Contributor
Kilee Holcomb, Staff Writer & Photographer
Kilee Holcomb is a sophomore, and this is her first year on the Tiger’s Eye staff. She spends her time participating in band, pursuing her love for photography, reading, writing, and playing with her 3-legged dog named Peaches (honorable mention to her Aussiedoodle Baloo). A fun fact about her band career is that she’s been in band for 5 years and marching band for 4. You could say that when people wear the same color of shirts and pants at once it gets on her nerves. She believes it would benefit the school if students would be more engaged in their classes and talk more.
