In the world of fast food, KFC claims that its chicken is “finger-licking good.” However, their new Saucy Nuggs are not finger-licking good. KFC attempted to introduce an innovative menu item, but it was nothing short of disappointing.
When I saw a commercial and heard the Colonel’s well-known catchphrase, I immediately knew I had to try their new nuggets. Upon purchase, I noticed these were not the nuggets I was expecting.
When hearing the name “Saucy Nuggs,” one would expect them to be covered in sauce; however, to my disappointment, all I saw were four nuggets with three gigantic cups of sauce. This was not at all what I had anticipated.
My three flavors of choice were Chipotle Ranch, Honey Barbecue, and Honey Garlic. Chipotle Ranch was smoky and tangy, with a hint of spice. Both honey-flavored sauces were very sweet. Overall, they tasted very similar. The sauces were good on their own, but the nuggets were definitely not. The dry and crunchy chicken was difficult to enjoy.
My issue was not only the disappointing food, but also the misinformation in the advertisement. The commercial featured bright images of chicken drenched in sweet sauce. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me.
I will not be returning to purchase any of KFC’s “finger-licking good” chicken anytime soon.
