The rematch of the 2020 NSAA Girls State Basketball Championship lived up to the hype last night.
The #8 Lincoln Pius X Thunderbolts defeated the #1 Fremont Tigers in double overtime by the score of 68-64, in the first round of the Early Bird Classic, played at Lincoln Pius x high school on Thursday, December 2nd.
Senior guard Taylor McCabe led the Tigers in points with 24, and sophomore McKenna Murphy added 19.
Senior center Macy Bryant played limited action, as she sustained an injury, to go along with foul trouble for the Tigers, as well as senior Bella Keaton who was in foul trouble early.
Senior forward Sarah Shepard led the Tigers in rebounds with 9, as well as adding four points.
The Tigers will be at home to close out the Early Bird Classic at Millard West on Saturday, December 4th, time is to be determined.
