Rylee-Rae James is a 17-year-old senior at Fremont High School, and this is her first year on The Tiger’s Eye staff. Her favorite color is purple because it reminds her of lightning and storms. One of the people she admires most is Ashland Carpenter, who has taught her lessons she feels her parents never could.

Rylee’s favorite childhood show is SpongeBob SquarePants, and her favorite animal is a snake because they are “chill and misunderstood.” Her comfort show is Family Guy, which she watches every night before falling asleep because it makes her laugh. If she had to eat one thing for the rest of her life, she would choose Taco Bell—specifically, a $5 online exclusive deluxe box with a Crunchwrap Supreme (no tomatoes), a bean burrito with fiesta potatoes, and a Mountain Dew, sometimes with a side of nacho fries.

If she could travel anywhere in the world, Rylee would choose Hawaii so she could feel like Moana from Moana. An extinct animal she wishes still existed is the dodo bird, because she thinks they’re cute and would bring her happiness. After graduating, Rylee plans to attend Wayne State College to earn her bachelor’s degree and become an X-ray technician.
