The relationship and dealings between the current president, Donald Trump, and one of his most notorious affiliates, Jeffrey Epstein, have been very prominent in recent media. From the Epstein files and revealed receipts of very explicit dealings, to a whole statue appearing at the National Mall in Washington D.C., this set of events, along with many others such as picture evidence and other material evidence, has revealed a darker side to our President.
For those who are not familiar with the controversies, Jeffrey Epstein is infamously known for many heinous acts, but mainly sexual crimes against children and general trafficking. He was also known for being very close to the current president and engaging in various types of deals with him, as seen in this article. Adding to this difficult topic, Donald Trump has faced allegations of sexual misconduct. However, he has not been convicted of any such crimes and therefore has not been designated as a sex offender.
Recently, a statue of these two political figures was erected by a group calling itself The Secret Handshake Project on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., seemingly in honor of friendship month. The statue depicts Trump and Epstein holding hands with a large plaque between them saying: “We celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend’ (in quotations) Jeffrey Epstein”.
Below this is another quote that leads into the plaques under the statues of the two men, which says, “There Must Be More To Life Than Having Everything.” The plaque is then topped off with a heart hand symbol in the center. There are two other plaques under the statues of the two men. Donald Trump’s plaque bears a quote attributed to him that reads, “Yes, there is. But I won’t tell you what it is. We have certain things in common, Jeffrey. Enigmas never age. Have you noticed that? A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday- and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
As for Epstein’s plaque, it says in response to both the initial statement from the middle plaque and Trump’s plaque, “Nor will I, since I also know what it is. Yes. We do, come to think of it. As a matter of fact, it was clear to me the last time I saw you.” Both quotes convey a sense of compassion for each other; however, they also evoke a sense of mystery and mischief due to the obscurity of the initial responses to the middle plaque’s statement. Either way, the statue appears to fuel speculation about alleged connections between the president
The statue was brought up by a group called “The Secret Handshake Project”. The group anonymously claims that this statue is among a vast series of anti-Trump statues, including the former “Dictator approved” statue, which shows the head of the Statue of Liberty being cracked by a golden thumbs up. The statue was removed from the venue and presumably destroyed. However, as of October 6th, the statue mysteriously reappeared in mint condition on the same venue where it disappeared to begin with.
